What a joy to love on the next generation and help them find and follow King Jesus! It was a blast teaching the 5th and 6th grade class again this year.
God continues to do amazing things at the Ridge. A wonderful partnership between multiple churches and the ABIDE program serve each week to demonstrate the Kingdom to this broken community. Phase #2 of the building has been completed. Check out the video below. The boy in the video has recently opened his heart to King Jesus. This is what it is all about. God is good! Our hope is to finish off the building by the end of the year. Please pray for the resources needed to complete this project.
Last night we continued to celebrate the transforming power of the gospel. Three young men proclaimed their new faith in Christ through baptism. Below, I've highlighted Kailup. Kailup is such a blessing. His simple love for the Lord and others is evident. Check out a video of his baptism below and continue to pray for God to move in and through the lives of His people at the Ridge.
In Uganda, A.B.I.D.E. stands for Amagara Bible Institute for Discipleship and Evangelism. Every year since 2008, students between high school and University have been living together for an intense 6 month time of discipleship. During these months, students are equipped with the skills and character they will need to be missionaries in their communities and universities. I was asked to be the "guest of honor" at the graduation of the 24 A.B.I.D.E. students this year. When I asked what was involved, I was told you will need to wear a robe, a funny hat, preach for 30 minutes, cut a cake, and commission the students. It indeed was an honor to be part of this special event.
